Join us for a weekend of Earth Day appreciation and awareness as we celebrate the planet. Throughout the weekend we will be collecting donations for Plant Pride on Parsons, http://plantprideonparsons.eventbrite.com/ and sharing with you information about recycling & conservation.
We will kick things off on Earth Day Thursday April 22, 2010, starting with a wine tasting of our Bota Box wines. Did you know that Bota Box box is 100% recyclable and is printed on 100% post-consumer fiber with soy based ink, so it's good for the earth. From Bota Box Facebook Fan page "we will donate $2 to the Arbor Day Foundation for every new fan during the month of April. Tell your friends."
Thursday we will also begin collecting old computers and components for recycling thanks to Community Computer Alliance. Items may be dropped off at our location during specified hours on Thursday 4pm - 8pm, Friday 4pm - 8pm and Saturday 11am - 4pm. (no TV's please)
Also on Thursday we will have live music to entertain you. And Sherri Palmer, head of Plant Pride on Parsons, will be available from 6pm - 7pm to answer any questions you might have about the program and get you signed up if you want to volunteer. Plus she will have a finished planter so we can see an example of what is in store for Parsons Avenue.
On Friday we will continue to collect computers to recycle as well as offer a number of fantastic drink specials to benefit Plant Pride on Parsons.
A few great things on Saturday:
We will be out in our neighborhood assisting with the Merion Village neighborhood clean up (details @ MerionVillage.org) continue collecting computers and Saturday evening, One Eye Theory will take the stage to entertain you. Donations accepted at the door will be given to Plant Pride on Parsons.
Look for updates in the next couple weeks, we have a few additional surprises in store, details @ HalandAls.com
