I never thought I'd be excited about visiting Pittsburgh, Louisville, and Asheville, but if you dig enough, there are a lot of attractions.
Heh. I've been trying to make it more of a priority to spend more long-weekends in our neighboring Midwest cities including Pittsburgh, Indianapolis, Louisville, Detroit, and all points in between. Really, I think many young people aren't looking for the "touristy" things and big national landmarks you see in bigger cities these days and are more interested in the unique scenes you can find when travelings. Hunting down a great restaurant or two is a priority whether you're in Pittsburgh or NYC, so why not check out the cheaper, closer option, right? ;) Should be just as fun.
