Well it doesn't take much searching on "santorum quotes" before things get interesting.
If the Supreme Court says that you have the right to consensual [gay] sex within your home, then you have the right to bigamy, you have the right to polygamy, you have the right to incest, you have the right to adultery. You have the right to anything. Does that undermine the fabric of our society? I would argue yes, it does. It all comes from, I would argue, this right to privacy that doesn’t exist in my opinion in the United States Constitution. In every society, the definition of marriage has not ever to my knowledge included homosexuality. That’s not to pick on homosexuality. It’s not, you know, man on child, man on dog, or whatever the case may be. It is one thing.
?? If homosexuality is "one thing" and "not ... man on child, man on dog" then why does it follow that allowing homosexual behavior extends to allowing adultery, bestiality, etc.?

Oh, he's pretty special. He also believes that women should thank God for a baby that is "given" to them by a rapist. They should be grateful.

like most cultural warriors he is running a perpetual campaign. He'll still come to town even if he does drop out. He has a campaign debt to pay off. Given the up coming states primaries/caucuses, I can see him staying in until Super Tuesday- lots of reactionary christian fundy voters in places like: Alaska, Georgia, Idaho, North Dakota,Ohio,Oklahoma,Tennessee....he should also do well in some of the states that lead up to super Tuesday. His 3rd place South Carolina showing may have had something to do with being Catholic and from the North.

It depends on how well the eventual nominee is able to pivot to the political center. Gingrich is a known quantity and will probably never be able to reduce his "negatives" in popular perception.
Santorum is an unknown. People will point to his anti-gay rights agenda and anti-abortion positions and these will hurt him with some voters. However, the immature and vile nature of some of the attacks against him might actually help him by discrediting the people who make those attacks and by generating sympathy for the man.

I don't see Santorum pivoting any closer to the center than the Book of Leviticus allows.
