From Trash to Treasure: Sustainable Materials Management
Friday, November 4, 10am-11:30am
MORPC, 111 Liberty Street, Suite 100, Columbus
The November Education Forum will cover many aspects of sustainable materials management, highlighting examples in central Ohio and beyond. Sustainable materials management describes a life cycle approach to materials, from virgin feedstock through final waste products. Sustainable approaches include reusing, recycling, composting, developing non-toxic or biodegradable products, reducing or eliminating material inputs in production, and recovering the end product for beneficial use. Join us to learn more about strategies resulting in waste reduction while simultaneously creating economic opportunities.
Presenters:
• Stephanie Cwik, U.S. EPA Region 5
• Dan Weisenbach, Weisenbach Recycled Products
• Mike Long, Ohio By-Product Synergy Network
