Are you ready for summer? We're gearing up for Pride, Comfest, and Red, White and Boom, and we need YOUR help to get Goodale Park ready.
Please join us and the CD101 GREEN TEAM for our next volunteer work day in Goodale Park, this Saturday, June 11, 2011, 9am-12-pm.
In addition to our normal cleanup and prep, we're going to tackle a pretty big project this year. The new fountain is still under construction, so we're working with the city to make sure that the pond area is fenced off for the next few weeks, to protect festival-goers from injury.
We'll be installing a temporary fence around the pond on Saturday morning, and the more help we have, the quicker we can get this going. The CD101 GREEN TEAM will be in attendance to help us work on the fence, so please come out and show your support. (and...pssst...they're bringing the ice cream truck). Please stay tuned to CD101 for updates and announcements.
In addition to our volunteer work event, the 2011 Run/Walk for Pride 5K will be held in Goodale Park on Saturday morning, with registration beginning at 8:30. If you plan to attend the Friends of Goodale Park Volunteer Work Day, please note that we will meet in our usual location, on the west side of the caretaker's residence. The Pride 5K registration will be located at the Park Street entrance, and parking may be difficult, so please try to take public transit or even better, WALK!!! :)
Any questions? Email me! juliehallan@friendsofgoodalepark.org.
Hope to see you on Saturday!
Julie
