As we all recover from the last few weeks of festivals in and around Goodale Park, let's not forget that the park needs a little help with its own recovery!
Please join Friends of Goodale Park this Saturday, July 9th, 9am-12pm, as we take down the safety fence around the pond and give the park a good cleaning.
Litter pickup (cigarette butts, in particular) will be a priority this weekend.
If we have enough volunteer help, we'd also like to try to weed out some of the growth in the pond bed, in preparation for the completion of the new fountain and the return of WATER to the pond!!!
The first Goodale Park Music Series event takes place this Sunday afternoon at the gazebo, so let's make sure the park is in shape.
PLEASE NOTE: Friends of Goodale Park is in need of wire cutters and litter grabbers for this weekend's cleanup. If you can bring these items for volunteers to use, please do! Also, if you'd like to help out with the weeding of the actual pond bed, please wear wader-type boots or heavy-duty shoes that you don't mind getting muddy.
Come out and help us make a difference.
