I usually eat lunch in the park and I must say these are the SLOWEST construction workers I have ever seen. You might be able to see progress if you come by every two weeks.

I feel my donation was wasted. Big thumbs down to who ever is managing this project. I feel depressed watching those guys fucking around, absolutely no ownership taking place. It is a joke to them.

Reread my post from last night and it reads a bit harsh in the morning light. I just want to clarify that I love Goodale park and use it regularly. The many times that I have seen workers at the fountian I am always a bit disheartened. They are involved a in nice civic project that should be a source of pride. There is no wind behind the sails.

Construction should be starting any day now once the weather cooperates. We had an early and long winter which prevented the foundation from being built late last fall. The fountain will take approximately 60 working days to complete. Please note that this is 60 working days which does not include weekends and days where weather will prevent work.Does anybody think the pond will actually be filled before summer's up?

Picture of the Cochran Cake last Sunday after the Spikedrivers concert, and before the elephants were installed.

I wish someone was accountable for the man hours that took. We bitch about the split fix (and rightfully so), but this is what happens when the hen house goes unattended.

The current plan does not include refilling the pond in 2011. They need to wait until the foundation made of Portland cement at the base "cures."
It will be 2012 before we see Lilly pads in the water again - just hope it doesn't get tagged in the interim. The beautiful addition to the park is so exposed right now to vandalism...

Does the fountain look "leaning" in the picture or is it me...hope it works after all the money and effort. Since they rushed on the base I would not be surprised if the fountain tilts...welcome to 2011 construction quality. In 1890 the thing would have been perfect - simply incredible...
