Bodega's patio is an okay perch for people watching, but their 1/2 priced drafts are the real attraction. Good luck finding a seat if you show up after 4:15 or so. Hampton's on King always has patio space, but their food is subpar and the beer selection is mediocre (good price though if you're just huntin' down some swill). The music is god awful; I have no idea what this place is like beyond happy hour. Vic's Cafe has a small, but very nice patio out back. You can always get PBR for a dollar and, depending on their stock, they sometimes have good microbrews for dirt cheap.
If you're looking for something low key, Cafe Apropos has a 7-day happy hour from 4-8. All draft beers are 2 dollars (Stella, Bell's, Rogue, etc), free beer snacks, and occasional food specials. Thursday is 6 dollar pint and pizza day. Apparently this place is tops for internet first-dates/meet ups. My lady and I have heard numerous awkward (and sometimes cute) conversations at adjacent tables.

I'm far from high maintenance, but don't act like your some bad ass hipster art douche who is too cool for the guy in shorts and a polo.

as far as happy hours.. this friday it's all about irishfest

Bodega and Tip Top are my go-to spots. I have enjoyed many a delightful HH at Apropos, but it's too laid back for a weekend spot for my liking. Gresso's has a monsterbig patio and I've had many a great evening there. Errrrrrm...yeah...those would be my picks.
And I'd rather be force fed broken glass via rectum than to ever have to set foot at Irish Fest for the rest of my life.

For what it's worth.I remember that from last year hah! I forget why though. Maybe price of beer? Which can't be more than comfest anymore heh. I guess I'm into the irishfest because I grew up in Dublin. It kinda calls me back every year.

Sorry bout that.
I really hate that fest though.
There's nothing I'd rather do less than drive all the way to freakin Dublin then pay half a month's rent to get into a festival with beer I don't want and a bunch of high school boys running around in Abercrombie shirts that are too small.
No spank you please.Posted 2 years ago # -
