???I spend plenty of time on both sides of Franklinton. I've got friends living and working there. I'm quite informed about what's going on in that neighborhood. Thanks for your helpful suggestion though.
And if you'd stop editing your posts every second, folks could see that I was responding to your suggestion that I spend time on the other side to see the difference.
You should probably go lie down now before you hurt yourself.Posted 8 months ago # -

Would this affect the Riverfront plan from the 2010 proposal of 4-5 skyscraper condos??No. That 2010 Riverfront development proposal was for the area between the river & railroad tracks (around COSI). The study area for the East Franklinton plan is west of the railroad tracks over to 315:

^ Very good to see this update. The abysmal state of much of the housing is really a major detractor to all the good that is going on. We really need to help show prospective nieghbors where the decent properties are.

Thanks for posting CU! We're really excited to have both affordable homeownership and rental opportunities in the neighborhood!

Challenges of Franklinton: Columbus’ Historic Urban Neighborhood
The neighborhood of Franklinton is like a staple in the history of our capital city of Columbus. It seemed to be situated for many years on the wrong side of the river, but the flood wall in 2004 brought hope of both new commerce and stable home ownership to the area. Some parts have succeeded over time, but obstacles still remain. On this hour of “All Sides,” we’re talking about Franklinton during a special broadcast in front of a live studio audience at WOSU@COSI downtown. For more information, visit our Facebook event here.

Tonight WOSU-TV continues its series of documentaries profiling Columbus neighborhoods with the story of Franklinton. Born of optimism but ravaged by occasional flooding, Columbus’ oldest neighborhood carries a twin burden of history and poverty. While Franklinton remains one of the city’s poorest zip codes, a quiet revitalization is trying to transform the district.

By: Walker
Franklinton has always had the best views of the Downtown Columbus skyline, but what it’s never had is much of a skyline itself. Pete Scantland, President of Orange Barrel Media, wants to change that.
