I just got back from to long weekend of helping a buddy move to Ft. Wayne, IN for work. Being my first visit to the city, I was not too impressed. Sure, it’s a small city but it seemed depressing, old and rundown. I went to several bars in the NW area of the city near my hotel on Saturday night (Washington Center Rd to be exact) and the bars -- all in restaurants or hotels -- were either dead or filled with people in their mid-50’s.
Now, I realize I was there one night so may have seen only a small portion of the city and its offerings. Does anyone here know about Ft. Wayne and have any advise on where someone in their 20’s and 30’s could go for fun? It didn’t help when the waitress at a restaurant spent 10 minutes telling me how bad the town sucked. I just want to be able to point my friend in the right direction and have him make the best out of a GREAT job opportunity.
