While on vacation this past week, we drove through Atlanta and made it a point to stop at The Flip Burger Boutique after hearing some rave reviews from Andrew Hall and Family a few months ago.
Their website: http://www.flipburgerboutique.com
The chef behind the concept is Richard Blais, who Top Chef fans might remember from Season 4 of the series (back when it was still worth watching) and in addition to his original Atlanta location, has already expanded to Birmingham, Alabama. Hopefully a location in Columbus isn't too far down the road. ;)
The decor is semi-minimalist with an electro-lounge motif. A long bar ran down the side to add a bit of a nightlife vibe to the place, the lights were kept quite dim, and dance music remixes played throughout. There was also some patio seating out front, but there was a bit of a waiting line for it, so we sat inside. It felt a little strange at first, but I think it worked well:

Flip's burgers walk the line between tradition and fine dining with some options including staples like bacon and american cheese, while others contain lump crab meat, poached egg yolk and pulled brisket. Most burgers are in the $8-$10 range with sides being $3-$7 extra.
Anne ordered the Turkey Burger ($6.50) that included avocado, tomato, alfalfa sprout, and pomegranate ketchup. I had a small bite and found the meat to taste surprisingly juicy and seasoned much like a regular hamburger:

I ordered the Tuna Tartare Burger ($10) that in addition to tuna, included sambal, pine nuts, garlic, wasabi mayo, avocado, carrots, togarashi, cucumber & mango yolk. I don't really know how else to describe it, other than by saying it was a delicious sushi sandwich. The mango yolk was a neat little trick. Set up to break like an egg yolk, but added the flavor of mango:
We split an order of hand cut french fries with smoked mayo & ketchup ($3) and vodka battered onion rings and beer honey mustard ($3.50). Both were stellar.
Anne also got a key lime milkshake to go. It essentially was like a slice of pie thrown in a blender with milk & ice cream. Wonderful. A bit thick at first, but the flavor was spot on, all the way down to the bits of graham cracker crust inside.
All in all, I was extremely impressed with the place. I'd love to see them expand and open one here in Columbus. We've got plenty of great burger options in town worth bragging about, but nothing doing the type of concept that Flip is doing. We'll definitely be back to try the Birmingham location sooner or later, as we pass by it pretty closely when traveling south to visit family.
