The only issue I ever had was driving to Toronto, crossing at Niagra for a bachelor party.
I was in the car with 2 military brats and a friend from Ohio, so we all had vastly differing places of birth which raised questions and incited a 15 minute stop.Coming back to the US we all waved our passports and they waved us through.

ThaMissus accidentally smuggled a British citizen to Canada and back in the 90's without repercussions, but I doubt if that could be done these days. She smuggled some Cubanos in tampon wrappers back to the U.S., too. She is daring, EH?Posted 1 year ago # -
I wish we had the audio recording when returning.
We pulled up to the US border guard, handed her our passports, and behind us a driver didn't wait at the giant sign that read "WAIT HERE".
The US guard yells at them to back it up, then she said "fucking idiots". We caught that, all started laughing and she waived us on through.

Pull up to the both
Guard; "Citizen of what country"
Me; "US"
Guard; "What are you coming in for"
Me; "lunch and some shopping"
Guard; "OK"
waves me pastOn the trip back:
Guard; "citizen of what country"
Me; "US"
Guard; "what were you in canada for"?
Me; "lunch and some shopping"
Guard; "Anything to declare?"
Me; "nope"
Guard; "OK"
waves me past. Was never asked for ID

Heck, I remember flying to Quebec.
I got off the airplane and up against a wall was a 3x3 table with a rubber stamp and and ink pad on it.
If you wanted, you could use the stamp to stamp your passport, but it was self serve.Posted 1 year ago # -
It's all about the Nexus Pass.

Now all I do is wave my card and nod at the guy in the booth as I drive past. Also, never a lineup.

According to the audio, your bike messenger friend driving his parent's van also owns a restaurant! I wonder if his mom is the "chef."
