The Caps are coming to town to face the Jackets.
Look for the 6-7-8 line (Brassard, Voracek, Filatov) to have a big night.

Headed down there now!
Headed down in a few, if the tornado does not get me.
Well, that could have gone better. :)
Oh, well. It's pre-season, and the Filatov - Brass - Voracek line DID look good.
Voracek came into camp ready to play now. Best player for the Blue Jackets tonight.
Damn... I missed the game. What did everyone look like? Thoughts?
There was a lot of rust, Pahlsson and Tyutin especially. It's way too early to overly assess the team though as they're essentially split into two squads. Number one pick Johansen looked lost at first, but gained a lot of poise as the game went on. The defense was getting caught out of position often. Hedja looked slow. Boll picked up a lot of quickness in the off season. Problem is, guys could not finish by scoring.
The Brassard, Filatov, Voracek line was creating the most chances all night. I can't say enough how impressive Voracek is going to be this year.
Voracek line was impressive but let's hope that Steve Mason doesn't get hurt this year. That backup goalie looked shaky at best.

That backup was one of Arniel's goalies with Manitoba, if anywhere he goes to Springfield. Garon's still the real backup. He played at Atlanta on Tuesday with the other squad.
Agreeing with Chaptal - I'd also mention that Chris Clark did a very good job, both defensively and in trying to create some offense, and I was very impressed with John Moore. He really knows how to anticipate a play and try to create chances.
They still here?
I thought they were going to leave if they didn't get concessions.

Five more cuts today - Nueber, Prout, Ratchuck, Murovich, and Chris Francis all were assigned to Springfield.

THE COLUMBUS DISPATCH
Late last night, after an exhibition game against the Atlanta Thrashers, the Blue Jackets boarded a plane with NHL officials and media bound for Stockholm. Another plane will depart this week with team officials, some club partners and more than 100 fans who will celebrate the Blue Jackets' 10th season by trekking a third of the way across the globe.
Both groups of passengers will spend the week in Scandinavia, returning with memories to last a lifetime and, perhaps, a win or two over the San Jose Sharks to open the season Friday and Saturday. But the real benefit will go beyond the fortunate few who get to watch the Blue Jackets play in the shadows of 15th-century Swedish architecture.

What was pretty much the final roster, aside from taking a last look at a couple guys who will be in and out of the lineup (Kyle Wilson, Nate Guenin) looked very good last night in a 4-3 comeback win over Atlanta.
Filatov had two sick, sick goals. Don't be shocked if he has a great year.
After a 4-1 win over Malmo in the final preseason game from Sweden, the Jackets will be taking on the Sharks to start the season Friday at 3pm in Stockholm!
The Jackets are having an official game viewing party at BC Roosters on Olentangy River Road, and the R-Bar and QFM96 are also partnering up for a party on Friday.
Is that 3PM their time or our time?
Jackets dropped a close one on Friday, then won in OT yesterday and are flying back to Columbus today. Not a bad trip, all things considered, but they have to stop taking so many penalties.
Opening night at Nationwide arena is Friday at 7 against the Blackhawks. If you've been thinking about going, tickets are still out there, and since it'll be honoring the team's 10th anniversary, it should be a really special night.
