From Liz Lessner's twitter last night: Evening's plans derailed by a grease fire at Dirty Frank's. Grateful everyone is ok. Restaurant closed tonight for clean up.
Sorry to hear this Harold and Liz. I hope the damage is minimal. Best wishes for you and your awesome staff.
Grease fires suck hard. Really hate burning liquids.
Hope everyone is OK and the clean up isn't too bad ( i.e. you're using a saponification rig rather than an older PKP system ).
I think the damage may have been localized to the grill itself. The fire was very small. There was a fair amount of smoke but not enough to even make me vacate the bar seat closest to the kitchen. There were certainly no injuries.

Continuity of business was maintained.

It's funny how you are so serious and concerned for this fire, but when it came to the fire at the Candle Lab in Grandview, you joked about it. You said, "I remember that fire, it smelled like patchouli." I guess every website has a punk that lives in mommy's basement.rus wrote >>

It's no joke: the candle lab fire did smell like patchouli. Try it yourself; light off all those "scents" you like at once. You tell me what it smells like.
Its OK - we can laugh about it now. When the fire was rolling, the fire chief came and asked all the business owners what two things we wanted saved from our stores, and the fireman who came out with our computer and cash drawer said "that's the best smelling fire I have worked". So the joke's been done before.
So glad DF's fire was a minor one. I was starting to worry about going through Ohioana/Nikola withdrawal.
Yea, I was just givin Rus a hard time. Glad to see the C-Lab coming to the Short North area. See ya soon.thecandlelab wrote >>

Thanks for the concern, everyone. We did have a grease fire on Wednesday night that prompted us to close that night due to the very big mess left by the powdered chemicals used to extinguish the fire. Thankfully, our staff and customers were all fine and we were able to reopen on Thursday.

Glad to hear everyone is fine and the place wasn't closed for long! :D
Great that everyone and everything is OK. Now I'm craving a Fire on the Rhine Dog.
There will probably be a big crowd there after the Shadowbox show on Sunday, so I'm glad all is well.
Ditto: Glad all is well! Can't live without Dirty Frank's... See you this weekend!
