I've been a sprint customer for over 10 years and they recently forced me into loosing my super cheap $35/month plan in favor of a new $90/month plan.
I've found while I do use smartphone 'apps' I'm not really into this whole smartphone thing and I'd like to ditch Sprint for something cheaper.
I've also started using Google voice. I've never really used many minutes in a month and now I can call out using Google talk so I suspect I'll need even less talk minutes than before. I also don't really need voicemail since Google is taking care of that for me (why should I pay sprint for voicemail I'm not using?)
I'd like a plan to have;
-Below 300 talk minutes a month or pay as you call( I really don't like talking on the phone).
-Around 1000 text messages a month or unlimited ( I receive many more texts than I send, so if something just had free inbound texts that would be swell)
-If the plan had any mobile web access or the ability to grab email from gmail or a exchange server that would be a huge plus but it's not a deal breaker.
It seems that the cheapest rates are found from the smaller competitors. I see T-mobile has some plans in the $15-$30. There is a company called Cricket wireless offering a plan at $25/month.
Are there any other companies out there that have any deals? I'm honestly interested in this cricket wireless thing, but I can't find many reviews of the service or the phone they offer. I also can't tell if you can get email or not on a "Huawei Pillar"
Does anyone have any praises or complaints about the smaller wireless companies out there? Or does anyone have some sites/blogs that I could read that talk about finding a feature-lacking cell provider?
