Discount clothing retailer Syms Corp. filed for bankruptcy Wednesday along with its Filene's Basement chain and both plan to go out of business.
CEO Marcy Simms posted this to their website:
Upon bankruptcy court approval, stores will begin going out of business sales that may run through the end of the year and, in some cases, possibly longer. We hope you will take advantage of these sales, which will offer the same type of great merchandise you've been accustomed to finding in these stores.

Huh - I had the same issue, since I knew about the previous thread & searched for it to link in.... and I searched under both "Filene" and "Filene's" - and got a whole bunch of other stuff, and this thread.
