Green Columbus asked FOSR if we had any volunteer events for January or February. It's a tough season for gathering litter or cutting brush, and the weather is unpredictable.
I suggested a one-day photographic survey of the watershed, which includes all of the Columbus area streams, and the reservoirs up north. Let the weather be whatever it will be, white and fluffy or rainy with gurgling rivulets.
Here's how I describe it on the FOSR calendar:
The Winter 2011 Scioto Watershed Photographic Survey will gather digital images of the watershed taken by volunteers, who will fan out to their favorite areas, or maybe explore new ones, and capture images of the watershed, urban or wild, thriving or distressed.
Images can be submitted to FOSR in several ways:
Email them to info@sciotoriverfriends.org
Post them to a hosting site, and send links to them
Burn them to CD and mail to FOSR, 4719 Reed Road #103, Columbus OH 43220
Bring your camera card or jump drive to the Green Columbus offices 1:00 - 5:00, February 14 - 18
