I enjoy the patios at both Brazenhead locations, but I don't go out of my way to go to either if it isn't nice outside. I would be inclined to pick Byrne's as a second pick, but again don't really go there much either.
Maybe I shouldn't have responded to this post...since my answer in retrospect isn't very helpful.
I can tell you that I don't really like that Fado place at Easton though.

If a place has Guinness on tap, and I drink enough of them, then that place becomes my favorite Irish Pub.

Ah...I like how you spun that...touche!
I like to make my coffee Irish.
That is unrelated to any of this though.

I second Byrne's.
It's like the opposite of Brazenhead…it's where you go not to be seen.

I can never remember the names of the pubs but the one on front street has good fish and chips, the one at Easton has a platter that what I thought was fish, turned out to be chicken! Why would an Irish pub have chicken strips instead of fish! Of course I don't know how many pints I had that night but the fish is chicken.......so beware.... does that help any??????

byrnes is not cool. went once for a friend's birthday, it is kinda chill, kinda frat like mix of the uncreative.

In all of Moscow and St. Petersburg, the only place I found Ketchup and mustard (and American music - and English speaking servers) was at a place called "Irelandski Pub" (pronounced Poob). Whiskey was $8 a shot and it was horribly over-priced. Check it out sometime

I know, if friends pick bars like that to go to then I should.
but in all fairness, it wasn't totally unpleaseant because it is about who you are with, not where you are that makes a fun evening. i was just saying that I've never ventured back on my own, not really felt the need to get back there.

Fair enough. I'm a little biased because I used to play a happy hour show there every Friday, and in that time I got to meet the whole staff & they're totally awesome. Fast service, divey atmosphere, free popcorn, and it's attached to a pizza joint. Beats a pre-fab "Irish Pub" to me, but to each their own.

Has anyone ever been to Claddaghs?

A note about Byrne's:
My fiance and I went there one Friday (early) to see a bluegrass band. The whole bar was filled with super old people listening intently to the music; some of them were even dancing which was a pretty funny, yet cute, sight. They even announced some guy's birthday who was turning 90. Anyways, two guys who looked like they belonged to Byrne's more regular clientele (20-something frat-stars) came in, took one look at this group of grey-haired folks amassed throughout the bar, said "What the F**K?" and walked out. I guess they'd never been in Byrne's before 10pm.
Aside from the occasional bluegrass show, we don't usually hang out there, although they do carry Strongbow (my favorite!).

I know Mac's is technically a Scottish pub, but to their credit they keep a keg of Guinness at "cellar" temperature, so it comes out on just the right side of cool.

I thought it was more of a restaurant than a pub.
