I'm a big fan of the rim trail at Conkle's Hollow. And if you are interested in doing some bike riding (road bike) I know of a nice 30 mile loop that you start at Rock House and do a loop, passing Conkle's Hollow.

My favorite spot is Cedar Falls, love the hike from Old Man's to Cedar falls. I also love to Kayak the Hocking River, start @ the Rock House and boat back to the livery, really nice.

So, you really need to download and study this USGS Topo Map to find some of this stuff and even then, I might need to be there as a guide, but I just about grew up down there and know it really well.
The Gulf Trail starting on SR 664 is a really great trail following Queer Creek through some cool cliffs (Rooty Hollow) and is really secluded. Chapel Ridge Trail goes along the top of Queer Creek and has really great waterfalls and vistas along it. If you know the right place there are some pretty cool caves on it too! This is on State Forest land, which unfortunately, was recently logged.
At the corner of Chapel Ridge Road and 374 there is the Ash Cave Fire Tower which was recently fixed up and opened to the public. The Buckeye Trail also goes by this and is a nice hike to Ash Cave. I would recommend climbing the fire tower at sun rise. Rose Lake is pretty great and stocked with trout. It is accessed best by 374 where you will see a sign for Fisherman's Parking. At the bottom of the dam outlet, there are some nice cliffs too. Two Creeks come together at the same point to make a great waterfall.
Conkle's Hollow Rim Trail (mentioned above) is my favorite in the Fall. The Inn at Cedar Falls has the best food in the area. Happy Trails to you!

Hands down, Conchle's(sp?) Hollow amazing views and it is a nature preserve so no accidentally stepping in dog doo.
The National Forest down by Athens is pretty cool too if you are the adventurous sort.

Conkles Hollow.....
My favorite spots - Cantwell Cliffs - the best part is in the first five minutes....just like me.
Ash Cave - the easiest access and very kid friendly.
The Hocking Hills Canopy Tour (Zip Lines....loads of fun).
Foodwise - The Flying Dog in Nelsonville can be fun - Elevator Beer on Draft and Chicago style dogs and Frito Pie.
And then....Athens!

Has anyone ever done the Canopy Tour? I hear its like $80. Is it worth it?

We did the Canopy Tours last month on a Sunday and had a great time. You have time to do some hiking before or after depending on your tour time. Definitely a great way to spend a day.
