I saw 'True Grit' last night. So now, I'm in a bit of a toss up between 'True Grit' and 'Inception'.
The Social Network was also great.

It was great in its writing, performances (many of which were done by non-actors), crime noir themes, etc., but I also just really dug it for what it captured. Afterwards, my partner commented on how harsh it was whereas I said it made me overwhelmingly nostalgic.
Edit: FYI -- Drexel is bringing it back for 1 week.

Mediocre year for movies I thought; lots of bad, lots of average, but very little good.

You can add Animal Kingdom to my list as well. Great acting by the young kid and the grandmother (Jacki Weaver). Even though she got the Golden Globe nomination, I was more impressed with "J", the young lead character.
"Pope" the uncle was also amazingly acted. I'd say more but I don't want to spoil anything.
I'm a sucker for great crime dramas. Very solid work for a directorial debut.
