I have always admired the American Gothic mural on the side of Jeni's. Columbus has some amazing large scale painters. I would love to be able to find where more of them are, as an inspiration for a project I am working on.
So I ask you...what is your favorite Columbus mural?

I'm split between our 8bit style "Massive Bicycle Guy" (Oakland & Summit) and the SoHud Community Trees (Hudson & Summit). But that's mostly because I was volunteer on both of those projects so they are close to me.

I'll tell you what's not my favorite mural - that hack job on the back of the Dairy Family on 5th and Highland next to Juniors Taco Truck. I appreciate the effort, but...
I'd love to see a pro actually do something like "art" on there. Assif would probably give permission if they had a good concept, as I don't think he's too happy about what's on his back wall now. At least its served its main purpose of keeping the taggers away.

There's a handful of cool murals hidden throughout Downtown that you wouldn't find unless you were driving/walking in the right direction and looking right at them. ;) Fun when you spot them for the first time.

Is the Garbo mural part of the Main Library or the Art Musuem? I always wondered about the history of that mural. Anyone know anything?

For shame Roland! Get down to the Main with lil' Roland right away, the kids section is awesome and a great place to while away several hours. :)
I think that mural is just on some parking garage or business nearby the library, I don't think it's affiliated? Who knows.
Greta Garbo and John Gilbert had a great love affair in real life. He was a prominent silent film actor before she became famous, and then when talkies came in, his voice didn't impress anyone, and she went on to become more successful.
I think she ended up living in isolation close to Union Square, close to where Andy Warhol's factory was.
Sorry, I also named my daughter Greta so I'm obviously a fan ;)

Definitely the Garbo Mural and the Union Station mural
But, there's this one mural of the skyline (Cleveland & Genessee) that I like as well as this mural om Main Street (this wouldn't count as Columbus, lol) and State Route 256 in Reynoldsburg.
