Anyone know if there's a place in Central Ohio to rent an exotic, collector, or vintage car for a weekend? I'm planning a road trip for August and I'd like to roll in something fun. I'm looking for a classic Mustang, Corvette or Trans-Am or maybe something European like a Lotus.
The usual rental companies have a few convertibles but it looks like I could end up with a PT Cruiser instead of a ragtop Mustang or Eclipse. No thanks.

While in Cali a few weeks ago I rented a Pontiac Solstice from Avis.
I would compare that to something like a Lotus. Super fun to drive, incredible handling on 18" wheels, zippy, convertible, xm radio etc.
You'd have to pack super light in one of those though!

The Solstice, Saturn Skye or the Eclipse would all be acceptable alternatives if that's all that could be had. A quick check of the Avis site suggests that they have Camaros available. Were you able to specify a Solstice when you made your reservation, or was that just the luck of the draw?

I dont know of any places that specifically "rent" vintage or high performance vehicles... but alot of times the places that sell them can arrange short term rentals (i.e. for weddings.. etc).
I know of two places that sell these vehicles in columbus..
Arena Motors --> They are mostly a muscle car dealer...and some hot-rods.
Denney Motor --> They specialize in used-Corvettes. They usually have a good supply of all years.
They should be able to help... or at least point you in the right direction if they dont want to do it.
