EWI Launches Passenger Rail Manufacturing Center

EWI launched a first-of-its-kind Passenger Rail Manufacturing Center from its headquarters in Columbus, Ohio. The mission of the Center is to develop and strengthen manufacturing supply chains for the rail and rolling stock industries, improve railroad product affordability, and develop technical innovations that will allow railroad manufacturers to collaborate effectively with OEMs (original equipment manufacturers) and deliver a new wave of manufacturing job opportunities at the state and national level.

Is there any reason they can't put in bids for pieces of the 3C Corridor project?

Maybe because the 3C "start up" plan is dead in the water...Well until after elections, then we'll see. They have no reason to be interested. 3C isn't making them money, so they don't care.

Yes, I believe no one is actually manufacturing anything as a result of this announcement. Its just a framework to help form future partnerships between the public/private sectors in the industry?
