There’s going to be an Edible Books program at Northwest Library on April 1st starting at 7pm. It’s a pretty neat ideaâ€â€what you do is you made like a cake or something else edible that’s either in the shape or a book or on a literary related theme. For instance, someone could paint angry faces on grapes and call it “The Grapes of Wrath.†Registration is on-site and there’ll be judging of the creations on taste as well as aesthics. I like this one of “A Clockwork Orange†You can see more creations at http://www.books2eat.com homepage of the International Edible Books program.

I know what I'm making, but it's a surprise. You'll need to show up to find out!
Also, if you want to join in the food preparation fun with an entry of your own but are stumped for ideas, here's a few titles that might easily translate into a cake or baked goods. Feel free to poach as needed:
The Bluest Eye by Toni Morrison
Stargirl by Jerry Spinelli
Blankets by Craig Thompson
Girl With Curious Hair by David Foster Wallace
Green Eggs and Ham by Dr. SeussThis should be fun.

Blankets? HOw would you do that? A cake filled with teen angst?

I was thinking one might make a bunch of crepes (square ones, not round). Then, either fold them (like blankets) or stack them.
Very literal, if not necessarily literary.
