Disappointed to see Snowville doesn't make an egg nog yet. Anyone have a favorite local thick nog they can recommend? One that thick enough to hide a lot of bourbon in.

My husband, who is not a vegan (loves bacon) has been really getting into the So Delicious vegan "egg nog". Shocked me, but he says it's tasty and cheap. Go figure. I personally find all egg nog disgusting, but whatever.

It may not be the best vessel for bourbon, but I like it. :)

+1 on that. I'm not a big nog fan but the stuff from Hartzler's is pretty amazing (and very thick.) I used to get it at Raisin Rack, not sure who else carries it. I did not see it at Whole Foods on Sawmill yesterday. They had it at Market District last weekend. I would also bet The Hills and Weilands. Also maybe The Greener Grocer.

Might not be a bad idea to use pasteurized eggs (in the shell) if they are available locally. BTW, french toast made with leftover eggnog = pretty awesome. I pour mine over french bread in a greased 13x9, let it set overnight and bake it on Christmas morning.

It makes a great cheesecake, too.
A LOT of eggnog makes for a great secret ingredient on Iron Chef: America
