I'll say it.

Stephen, yet another broke, downtown arm chair quarterback, of what others should do with their money.

Here's an honest criticism and idea for you to take this "need" of downtown/short north and do something about it. There are plenty of restaurants located it that area who do not offer breakfast. Offer to lease their space and kitchen for an early breakfast, done by 10am. You rent it, and staff it, leaving the owner with little to no risk, but an additional revenue opportunity for them.

Then you can test your idea and see if there is an actual market for it.

Not everyone wants to open a restaurant. That's not a very helpful suggestion.

Columbus lacks enough 24/7 diners for sure.

Dempsey's opens for breakfast at 7am.

I would support that, ONLY if I could buy those armchairs downtown :)

And, honestly, I thought my suggestion was helpful. Even if someone doesn't wish to get in the restaurant business, they probably know someone who does and this could encourage them with an idea they never thought of.

Who knows, maybe Mr. Stephen is a PR and Marketing genius and could promote the hell out of the place for his friend and its a whopping success. Hello, Pop Up Restaurant anyone?

But, then, maybe we could just wish and hope and that will make this idea/suggestion/whatever turn into reality.

Please, guys, I go by Steve. Don't be deceived by my username.

To be entirely honest, Todd isn't too far off... something's abrewin' but I can't say what or who it is that will be doing it... But I'm sure as heck not the one that will be doing it. I have a different job.

And yes, in the end, I will just be going to DK Diner...

Now I'm confusing everyone. Viva la early birds.

Warehouse Cafe does a good breakfast Downtown. Though they don't open until 7:30am.

Steve, another dining option since you are heading NE for work anyhow is Fitzy's Diner, just off I-270 and Schrock Road. As they are open 24 hours, you can dine <as early as you like>, then just hit the outerbelt to arrive at A&F hq in plenty of time.
They boil their potatoes before cooking to bring out the starch, thus yielding a great breakfast potato. You can substitute a really large pancake for toast for a mere 50 cents.

I'm a fan of the German Village Coffee Haus. They open pretty early, like around 6:30 am. Of course it's not one of the more fancy places but for a diner serving simple, greasy breakfast food it's amazing. their breakfast sandwich hits the spot after a night out and two people can have coffee and breakfast for around $10-12 easily.
