City's signature event had humble beginnings

One of Dublin's premier events had humble beginnings. The event that draws more than 100,000 people over three days began 25 years ago with a concert and the Columbus Feis, a regional Irish dance competition. The Dublin Irish Festival was born in 1988 when an urge to celebrate Dublin's first year as a city and the Columbus dance competition collided.
