Well, I just happened to luck out on a sub-lease of an apartment for a co-worker in the SN. It's in the same building as RJ Snapper. The kitchen and bedroom are HUGE. The Living room is average and not set up well at all, so figuring that out will be interesting. Stupid random fireplace and crap. But yeah, it's pretty sweet!

I used to live down there. The landlord was an absolute slum lord. He has an office there at High and Buttles. Bad BAD landlord. If you look at their website, all of their buildings have something in common.- they are run down. (I'm talkin cockroaches and mice. Complained once and he sent two lesbians to my door with a mouse bait station who told me "here toss this in the basement.")
Its a great place to live if you don't mind parking issues, and gallery hops. I imagine the happiest residents down there are up all night and sleep all day.

Hmm, well I'm sub-leasing from a co-worker who hasn't had an issue and the kitchen and bathroom was completely remodeled. The landlord is the Wood company, which I have heard great things about. Perhaps a different building you were in?

it wasn't the Wood Company, you are safe.

That's a great location! RJ Snappers used to be a rock venue called 700 High (BITD) and the Smashing Pumpkins & Porno for Pyros both played there…circa '92 or so. So try & visualize that as you weave through the valets & upscale patrons to get to your apartment. I don't know where you lived before, but I bet a bunch more walking (and dare I say bike riding) may be in your future. Congratulations!

Wood companies are very good. That is who my brother and his wife went through. They were always prompt with maintenance and have nice properties. Welcome to the neighborhood!

Wow, that's cool to know! Ha Ha. I went early and hit up Jeni's and Macs before the viewing to get a "feel" and I liked it! And yes, I may get a bike. Or a scooter. Or a motorcycle. We'll see. But I can walk to everything pretty much, so I may just do that.

Welcome to the neighborhood, I live right down the street from there and it's a great location. Wood Cos are great landlords, we rented from them before buying our house.

This is awesome, heard many good things. I think I've figured out how to do the living room too. Hopefully. My TV is very important to me! HA HA. 12 foot ceilings too. Now the hard part. Moving. It's on the second floor and the area isn't exactly "roomie". FUN.

You can try to have the meters bagged in front of Snappers, that'll burn the valet's collective asses. I'm pretty sure the form is on the Cities website under transportation division. If you can't find it, I have a copy of it somewhere.

I remember that Smashing Pumpkins show and how the place had been painted with Where The Wild Things Are characters. Welcome to the neighborhood.

No. No it doesn't. It means I won't be living with my ex-girlfriend anymore though.
