I'm still in the process of condensing my life to the downtown area, and I'm tired of driving out to the 'burbs to see my old dentist. Does anybody have any recommendations of a dentist that they like in the downtown area? Thanks!

Anne & I both go to Capital City Dental over on Thurman & City Park. We've been going there for maybe two years now, and while everyone is really nice, their current hygenist has been a bit rough lately with the flossing. Sounds silly to actually type that out, but she was seriously ripping in there like she was trying to bleed us to death.
So yeah, nice place and very good location, but hopefully the hygenist can ease up a bit or else we might be looking for a new place to go soon...

Walker, what was her response when you mentioned it to her? Hopefully next time she will take that into consideration.

Well, when both Anne & I said what she was doing was painful, she told us both that we don't floss enough and that if our gums were healthier they wouldn't be bleeding so bad. and i floss regularly.

i go to James Metz. He's on broad street downtown. He's a high profile guy tho, and expensive, but well worth it. He's actually been my dentist since i was about 3 :)

I go to Dr Sherman, he is on the corner of High and Broad, next to Arby's. He is the bomb, super nice guy.

I go to Capital City also. I went to my dentist in Youngstown (hometown) and he told me to go back to Capital Ciy because he said "Whoever did my fillings did a great job." So, I've returned to them, rather than going to my family dentist in Youngsotwn.

I just got a filling yesterday. It had been a long time since I had, but Dr. Szana is awesome! It only took like 20 minutes.

This is ironic...but Dr. Deborah Hurt on South High, just south of Thurman by the Long John Silvers. Seriously.
I have the dentist phobia and picked her out from my insurance list of preferred providers because I thought with a name like that maybe she overcompensates by being extra nice... and I was right.
I've also seen her drinking at the Round Bar and shopping at Giant Eagle down here in the Village so I know she's "my kind of people."

As long as you didn't see her drinking before your appointment :p

whatever you do, don't go to the dental clinic on broad just east of i-71. i was on a crappy dental plan and had to go there once. they don't have sinks for you to spit in, and there's a sign that says "do not spit in trash can" next to the trash can.
i wish i was making this up.
