just as an fyi, if you click the back button rather than refresh, you won't get the double posts.

Is this problem persisting today? I hadn't seen it yet. I think we might have figured out the issue yesterday, but it didn't seem to garuntee that it wouldn't happen again.
Basically one "service" on the server start to hang up which causes other functions to slow down. Kind of like when you've got one frozen application on your desktop and it causes everything else to run slow until you restart it.
A bit annoying, but we're working on figuring out how to get it to stop. ;)

When it freezes upon posting, I just open a new window and don't mess with the old one.
I have refreshed the new window and watched my posts double and then triple.
Edit - JUST LIKE THIS! ^^^^
Oddly, it doesn't happen when editing existing posts.
I get this on the original post window:
"Safari can’t open the page “http://www.columbusunderground.com/forums/bb-post.php†because the server unexpectedly dropped the connection. This sometimes occurs when the server is busy. Wait for a few minutes, and then try again."
Sounds like many people are experiencing the 'hangup' when posting, maybe the hangup + triple posting is a quirk of Safari?

Firefox on mac occasionally tries to download bb-post.php. I'm guessing that's the same thing you're seeing Drew, just firefox handling a 500 differently.

Just about all my posts the last few days have "froze up" and returned the "View or Download File" dialogue including the post I made a few minutes ago.
I generally just copy my post and reload the topic to see if I actually posted. Usually I don't need to repost.

If you're using a virtual provider, you can just call your hosting company to bump up the RAM and CPU on your vhost/slice, whatever.
