Where is this bloc party? I haven't been to the Doo Dah in like 10 years. From what I've read it sounds like the parade if from 1-2 pm?

It was a fantastic time! Doodah is one of the things that I point to as a wonderful quirk of my adopted home town.

This will be the 2nd year in a row that I'm going, because for the first July 4th in my life, I have NO family commitments, what-so-ever.

What is the weirdest costume you've seen @ the DooDah parade?

the 'Ohio Swing Voters' will be back this year! we're meeting at the gate at the corner of Park and Russel at noon - look for a silver Honda Fit.

Anyone is welcome to join us, whether you want to swing dance, swing a bat, drag a playground swing behind you, just walk with us, whatever. You can bring a white t-shirt to decorate, we'll have markers. Wear good shoes and plenty of sunscreen!

Here's more info on the SwingColumbus fan page:

Here are some photos of today's parade.
It seemed like it was bigger than the last couple of years.
    lots of BP related floats,

    lots of great modified bikes

    and some couch surfing.

Loved the Arizona against Vikings and the Ghostbusters. The Mad Hatter look-a-like was pretty good too. Took over 100 pics.....up on Facebook soon. I hope this event gets bigger by the year. Good fun.

My friends were the Arizona Border Patrol/Vikings folks! I thought they were the best, but I am a little biased. The Ghostbusters were pretty great too. I was hoping the proton packs would have doubled as water guns because I was a sweaty mess.

The Arizona Border Patrol/Vikings probably made me laugh the most. It was definitely the most intricate presentation! It's weekends like this that make me so happy to live here.

The judges near the end of the parade- what was everyone's impression of them?

Anyway, I kinda liked the Governor's Inmate ones & The Arizona Vikings (sounds like the name of a team, hehe) vs. Border Patrol.
