Where is this bloc party? I haven’t been to the Doo Dah in like 10 years. From what I’ve read it sounds like the parade if from 1-2 pm?

It was a fantastic time! Doodah is one of the things that I point to as a wonderful quirk of my adopted home town.

This will be the 2nd year in a row that I’m going, because for the first July 4th in my life, I have NO family commitments, what-so-ever.

What is the weirdest costume you’ve seen @ the DooDah parade?

You mean this marching band? Maestro Maneri from a previous year in the band cap.

the ‘Ohio Swing Voters’ will be back this year! we’re meeting at the gate at the corner of Park and Russel at noon – look for a silver Honda Fit.

Anyone is welcome to join us, whether you want to swing dance, swing a bat, drag a playground swing behind you, just walk with us, whatever. You can bring a white t-shirt to decorate, we’ll have markers. Wear good shoes and plenty of sunscreen!

Here’s more info on the SwingColumbus fan page:

Here are some photos [/url]of today’s parade.
It seemed like it was bigger than the last couple of years.
    lots of BP related floats,

    lots of great modified bikes

    and some couch surfing.

It always seems like more funfreakyfolks come out for the parade when the weather is as nice as it was this year. YAY!

I thought Swing Voters was #1 and so did a bunch of friends standing in front of Short North Tavern.
