Anyone know anything about this? I was driving up 4th last week and saw a sign for it but it was just a huge asphalt parking lot. I wonder if they are going to green it up with all the condos being built around downtown. It was near the fire station on 4th near long?.

I don't know anything about it, but that would be sweet! It makes sense for that area...

Thanks Walker. That's exactly what I was looking for.

I like that there is a correlation between closing homeless shelters and building dogparks in the last decade downtown.... hrm?

There's also a correlation between closing homeless shelters and the earth's average temperature. Maybe they're responsible for global warming too.

I'm seeing a correlation between the quantity of Cyclist's posts and the quality of them.

Be hoping that it's not catching.

I am commenting on silly things like dog parks being more desriable or needed than a social service.

I'm with the biker on this one.

Walker's post are rarely original. He lets the Dispatch, John Ross, Bonnevile, Business First, and Meredith Joy do all the writing for him. Hey, I throw in a YouTube now in then, but I am not constantly ripping off other sources... what a moderator!!! sheesh!

Well why didn't you just say that. You make a stronger point when you check your snark at the door.
To speak to your point, are social services closing up, or just relocating outside of downtown? We've got the commons at Grants as a fairly new addition to downtown, as well as the new commons going in near CSCC.
Personally I like to see a healthy mix of low, mid, and high income residents sharing the neighborhood downtown. And if a dog park is something that some residents want to see replace an empty corner, then more power to them for making it happen.
It's not like they're ripping down homeless shelters to replace them with dog parks.
There's room enough in this sandbox for everyone.

Well, we already have a few homeless parks. Might as well build one for the dogs too.

I wish it were on a rooftop.
