I use the major ones.. GChat is my favourite, but i have and use AIM, MSN, Y! and I even have an old ICQ account that I occasionally log into. I also use IRC if that counts..
I currently use Pidgin as a chat client, but I've used Trillium and played with Digsby...

not a lot anymore, I used to in college a lot...but if i do, it's mostly gchat, with the occasional sign on to aim via ichat on mac...for me the facebook updates/wall and twitter pretty much replace it...just for me though, I know everyone treats it different.

I've got an account on all the major IM services.
Use MSN for work (and some former coworkers), AIM & GTalk (with a dash of Facebook chat) for friends, and I think I've still got ONE friend stuck on Yahoo IM.
Client-wise, Digsby on Windows and Adium on the Mac collect it all together for me. Plus Meebo when I'm away from my own machine.

I used to use ICQ back in the day and uninstalled it after it was eating up too much of my free time. Never went back.
But now that I use Gmail/Facebook, and it's built in, I'll use those occasionally.
Oh, and I use Twitter a bit as an IM client.

I use my Blackberry messenger to IM with my fiance instead of texts, but I guess the only time i am on a chat is either Gchat or Facebook...
