THIS JUST MADE MY DAY!!!!!!! 2007 is off to a great start!!!!!! If you have never seen him live GET THERE!

I haven't see DJ Dan is sooo many years, I wouldn't even know what kind of stuff to expect from him.
I may have to check this out; even if just to see what music he is into now. At one time this guy was one of the most exciting 2 or 3 DJs in the country.

It's not what you remember, I can tell you that. Dan is a great guy, but I am not into what he plays these days. and yes, this is the same dan with the James Brown mix from back in the day.

That's too bad. He was incredible at one time. I may still go see him; not sure yet.

I remember this tape not leaving the deck in my car for like weeks straight, I guess I was in like 7th or 8th grade when this came out. (1993) I really like when he brings in nirvana like 5 minutes in. Also this was before the time when all the big name dj's used computers to make their mixes. (remember pause tapes?)

Jason, I couldn't agree with you more. Hearing his stuff now compared to 5 years ago is completely different. Ever since he got with Blow me records his electro has come out. I still luv the guy, no doubt, but his Round Trip CD and his Lift CD sound like 2 completely different DJs!!!!

I would have to disagree with Mr Lyman. The last time we brought him to Long Street He was banging. Don't ask me how but hi is #5 this year & that has to say he's doing something right.

it's not actually a ranking, it's more like a popularity contest
it all depends on who you ask :)

Aaron- I'm gonna have to agree with your disagreement.
I've seen DJ Dan in person almost 10 times in the past 10 years. I've never been disappointed with a set of his. Personally, I haven't been impressed with his last few mix cds. That doesn't mean that his live set will be bad though. Same with Feelgood. The only mix tape I like of his was from the mid to late 90's [don't remember the name of the mix]. Don't like his mixtapes- but love him live. So give Dan a chance people-- I'm sure he's got quite a few tricks up his sleeves!!

I personally don't go out as much as i used to, but i might have to for this event, from what i remember he put on an awesome show last year and i had a blast, i am sure the alcohol in my system made it more fun, but whatever, ill be out and partying... any reason to go out and have fun and drink is always a good reason :) does anyone know what the cover is going to be?

Ahh... cool. I knew there were a few rankings out there, so I wasn't sure which one was being referenced.

I'm not saying he isn't a techinically good DJ, I was saying that what he is playing now is not close to what he was playing 5-10 years ago. I remember when he was at Long Street last which is what I based my opinion on. I'm just not into what he is playing now. That's really about it.
I used to be into what he played. I'm just not right now. Should be a packed house though.
