i will probably go to this, not that i like him or his music, but I saw him spin at Reserve in Chicago, and god damn the bitches came out that night.

i'm going to try and check this out. all depends on the funds and if i can get off of work from my other job. if i don't make it, whoever goes, have a great time for me. 8)

any idea of how much this will cost? they were taxing like 50 at the door at reserve when i saw him there, luckily 1 of the owners of reserve worked at the firm where i was working at the time, and all employees always had free door and VIP, and even free tables if you called ahead and no huge dj was there. best "hookup" i ever had.

looks pretty sweet from his myspace.
what type of music does he play when he spins...
wait answered that one for myself by listening on, love that multi-genre ish, that's pretty much what I have been going for in my sets lately. will def check him out if it's not super taxed.

I believe he spins a lot of mainstream music with a dance beat to it. Im sure his velveta set won't disspaaoint!!!!

That noise naps posted was awful. His mixing was alright, but the cheesy 90s anthems is pretty annoying. I won't be going to Sugar for that...

yeah, that you tube video didn't exactly make him look like the world's greatest DJ.
But, at least he's doing something different then what has been done before a million times. I mean all music has to evolve, if producers were making the same music they made 10 or even 5 years ago I would think they were weak. It takes more balls to risk trying something trully unique and sucking then it does to play the same music dj's were spinning in 1993. This also applies to the Dj Dan thread and people talking about how his music has changed. If it hadn't then dude would just be a has been, as are all producers who are still making music that sounds like the mid 90's. In they weren't making it then, they are biting, if they are making it now they have failed to evolve.
Bringing well known pop and classic rock tracks into electronic music is really a big trend right now and seems to me to be a lot more cutting edge then playing the same tried and true genres that have been hashed and rehashed over and over again. My guess is DJ AM will get as big of a turnout as Feelgood.
On a side note eminem said "nobody listens to techno. Now nobody listens to eminem, britneys punnay ruined her career, keoki is nothing, planet of the drums is dead, jay-z is past his prime, Dj Dan is on his way out, notice anything....
music goes in and out of style, nothing will remain popular forever. change up your style every so often or become a has been....
the world is yours and it's also yours to lose..

Seriously? I guess I never really looked at the price, but I was assuming it was around tennish. So the door-cover for this event is going to be like $25?
Posted 5 years ago # -
yeah, that's what i was thinkin...
$10 I can swing ... $20 for me AND my lady friend is whatever
but $50 for two people, pre-drinks is unacceptable. anyone on here gonna be payin $25?
Posted 5 years ago # -
no way, I don't care who it is.
Posted 5 years ago # -
I just want to throw out there that DJ AM's fee is crazy high!!! So that's why the cover is what it is. I was wondering what they were going to be charging, even at $25 a person I bet they don't cover his cost.
