I'm afraid they are preaching to the choir with those signs.

Yeah, the tagline stopped me in my tracks. It's great. My guess is someone will rip down all the flyers by lunch tomorrow.

The septic smell of this proposed amendment just keeps getting stronger.

what about cockfighting in ohio?
a group in WV is starting a campaign to legalize cockfighting as part of their casinos.
if that passes in WV, then wouldn't issue 3 also allow cockfighting in ohio casinos since any new games in neighboring states have to be allowed here?

http://www.wvmetronews.com/index.cfm?func=displayfullstory&storyid=33183That has to be a hoax

While real...which is scary...it appears to have virtually no traction.

BTW, if they pass the Running Man game into reality, it would have an opportunity to be legal here too.
And if my aunt had a dick she'd be my uncle.

Ohio would be far better off without casinos
Tuesday, October 27, 2009 2:54 AM
BY MIKE CURTINSince 1990, casino proponents have spent about $60 million in four elections trying to persuade Ohioans to give them a state-sanctioned gambling monopoly.
All four times, Ohio voters have wisely rejected the offers. About 10.3 million votes have been cast against these proposals, with about 6.6 million cast in favor.
That's a consistent, 61-to-39, common-sense message against the false promise of a gambling-induced economic stimulus.
But the deep-pocketed gambling barons never go away.

"Thompson and two other national gambling experts, in an Oct. 18 Dispatch story, agreed that the notion of a casino-induced economic stimulus is absurd. A fool's bet."
They should actually link that story, as it was a "true and false" of the casino argument which also showed a good portion of the claims by the anti-casino group as false.
And no offense, but the minute I see someone use the "broken family" argument, I lose all respect.
Come on...really?

lol...I ain't mad at ya Walk. In fact, since I saw that whole Monster Mash video I can't keep but thinking of you smiling.

I'd be cool with a casino if it had only the classic games of craps, roulette, poker and black jack. Everything else is just going to bring rubbish and problems I don't want. I'm voting against Issue 3. Everything about it screams chintzy and ill conceived.

http://www.wvmetronews.com/index.cfm?func=displayfullstory&storyid=33183I think cock fighting would be a bit extreme ... I just am tired of the Catholic Church having the monopoly on gambling in Ohio. I think we should be able to have "Monte Carlo" Night every night without having to drive 100+ miles.

Why are we even voting on whether to have casinos open up or not in Ohio? Shouldn't any business that is legal be able to come here without having to get approval through a constitutional amendment or vote of the General Assembly?
And if gambling isn't legal, how can the state run the lottery or its games?

http://www.wvmetronews.com/index.cfm?func=displayfullstory&storyid=33197no traction right now, but they just started the campaign. if i hadn't been listening to WLW from cincinnati in my car, i wouldn't have even known about it. but the news report did say that they had some legislators on their side already. i think this is a real possibility for WV, and if issue 3 passes, maybe ohio.
