The people most likely think that it will only BE high not no other street. But hey like ive said before it has to start somewhere, Why not downtown?

Quite a few people at City Hall read CU on a regular basis. But only a few of them are willing to attempt to converse with screamers.
Additionally, whenever I speak to any elected or appointed governmental leaders either for interviews or at other types of discussions, I'm always taking information to them voiced by people here who take the time to think things though, offer creative ideas and valuable contributions. What I *don't* take to them is childish screaming, rambling and ranting.
I'm not trying to be mean, but honest... if you want to be taken seriously, you're going to have to step up a few notches. That goes for Caleb and Urbanboi too. Less abrasiveness. More critical thinking and analysis. Less airy daydreaming. More reality-based solutions.

To make any of the plans happen, you have to get buy in from the big corporate (private and public) powers that be. The institutions that need to decide this is important to the future of the region (off the top of my head): OSU, Chase, Nationwide, State of Ohio, The Dispatch crowd, the Wexner crowd, maybe Honda and Battelle. I may be leaving some folks out, just starting to get the lay of the land power-wise.
Most of the institutions also represent major employment locations, many of which are not as well served as they could be by mass transit.
A core circulator streetcar or a light rail up the High Street corridor to Worthington or the Chase facility at Polaris would seem the best to get decent ridership from the get go.

Has anyone considered sending a petition to COTA, City Council, the Franklin County Board of Commissioners and/or other pertinent entities?
It crossed my mind during ComFest that you could probably gathered a lot of signatures at the Fest. Anyone heard of any precedent for something like this (i.e. citizens demanding transit options)?

what's our casino money going toward? didn't we put it up for something already? if not, that sudden influx of cash would be great for a streetcar...

I think this is probably a bad move. I don't believe that the casino will generate much in the way of new tax revenue. I think it will mostly be people doing that instead of some other entertainment option which is already being taxed. So I think the casino money should go to the same place as the rest of the sales tax money (presumably the general fund), otherwise they could start to see a shortfall in the general fund.

Ironically, some of it might be used to subsidize Nationwide Arena.
