If you're looking for an excuse to eat out, this might be it.
Dine Originals Columbus, a group of 40 locally owned independent restaurants, is hosting its third Dine Originals Week starting Monday and running through March14. During this event, the restaurants will roll out two- to four-course meals - $10.10, $20.10 or $30.10 - to showcase the city's diverse culinary scene.

It's worth noting that since the last DOC Week event (Sept 2009) there have been some new additions to the DOC Member Lineup:
- Barrio
- The Olde Mohawk
- Spinelli's Deli
So... couple new options in there if you think you've already tried everything DOC has to offer. ;)

I think J and I have our game plan, Monday: The Refectory...Friday: Deep Wood; and perhaps throw in a lunch at some point as well. The Refectory has never disappointed, and I've been meaning to check out Deep Wood for some time. I can't wait!

Just got back from dinner at the Refectory. As always, it was a spectacular meal with wonderful service. I really can't gush about that place enough. The husband who ceased to be impressed ordering steak years ago, was blown away by his filet, and the dessert course was effing phenomenal. I'm consistently impressed with their flavor combinations. Great way to start the week off.

I've decided to indulge my inner carnivore for RW...I couldn't help it. Last night we hit G Michael's and it was amazing. I started with the fried oysters. There were about 5 or 6 GIANT oysters and they were amaaaaaaaaazing. I had 3 and pawned off 2 as they were already filling me up. My delightful dining companion had the brussel sprouts with ham and gruyere and they were ridiculously delicious as well. We both had the ribeye filet/veal cheek entree. It was fantastic...cooked perfectly medium rare on the ribyeye. The veal cheek was sooooooooooo rich. I left behind a couple bites of both and easily half of my mashed potatoes and spinach. It was amazingly good, I was just getting so stuffed. For dessert, he had the chocolate torte. I swear I blinked twice and it was gone, so I assume it was good. ;) I had the cobbler with Jeni's salty caramel, and it's a MUST order...absolutely warm and gooey and fantastic. Slobber. I kinda wish I had all the leftovers right now.
Deepwood is Wednesday. Wooooot.
