Han hao! That should be a big help. Looking forward to seeing everyone there. I'd like to make the reservation on the 15th.

Bump! Okay setting up the dim sum meet for April 18th at 12:00 at Sunflower.
Everyone is welcome! Just let me know so I can make/adjust the reservation.

Bump again! We've got 7 people confirmed and could use a few more adventurous souls.

I was all set to say count us in until I double-checked the time and date. 12 on Sunday is right about when we get out of church, so we probably couldn't arrive before 12:30 at the earliest. Normally a half hour might not be a big deal, but we wouldn't want to hold people up on ordering from the carts....

Chris, if it goes like last time, we won't really be eating until about 12:30. And trust me, I know we hadn't come close to slowing down by them. ;)
I'd love it if you guys could make it and I'm including you in my reservation numbers. So, like, peer pressure, ya know?

How did it compare to Lee Garden?

It was a little more expensive. The service was more harried (they were packed to the gills with many people waiting). The food, I would have to say, was a little better. Two thumbs up definitely.
Oh and am I the only person having a problem with topic links taking me to completely random threads?
Oh, and thanks to everyone who came out. SusanB especially for making sure we got a table.

And for something completely different. We decided that next month we want to do brunch at Anna's. So I'll be starting a thread for this since I don't think Greek food really goes with the dim sum thread.
Get your preferences in for dates as soon as possible. Opa!

Thanks David for putting together a great dim sum experience. The food was great. Looking forward to the Greek food brunch.

Thanks David for putting together another great dining experience.
As far as comparing the two experiences, personally both A & I preferred Lee Garden across the board (food, atmosphere and price) but the two were very close. Also, there's a very different selection at the two restaurants, so it's definitely worth trying both.
It's worth mentioning that the dim sum we had yesterday was much better than we had had at Sunflower before, and I think the difference was going at a time when they had the carts out rather than just showing up at a random time and trying to get dim sum.

We were late, got there about 12:45 I think. they were packed and said it was a 1/2 hour wait so we took off.

Another thanks to DavidF for organizing this.
We had another GREAT time. It was nice to meet some new folks too.
We both liked the food @ Sunflower better. I think it was the fact that the had more seafood offerings. They also some intersting things with tofu.
Looking forward to Anna's.Posted 2 years ago # -
there were 3 of us, and being so late I wouldn't have intruded. Noon is just too early for me to be anywhere on a Sunday I guess!

All the more reason to get your time/day preferences in for Next month's Greekapalooza at Anna's. ;)
I tend to do dim sum early because many of the dishes can run out if they are busy. Oh, and boy was Sunflower busy!
