We were warned the area was pretty sketchy, so we decided to drive. We then realized it was across from million dollar condos (buggyworks) so we drove home, parked and walked. The first thing that caught my eye when we walked in was the bartender trying to wake a guy that had passed out on the end of the bar. The first thing that caught my eye when we went out on the deck that overlooked the parking lot was the same guy that managed to get into his drivers seat, but luckily passed out on his steering wheel (unfortunately no horn, my theory is this happens often enough that he had his horn disconnected) before he could get going. Busch beer is a dollar a can. I know what you are thinking "how ironically hip," but you would be wrong. See exhibit A (man passed out on steering wheel) for proof. There was a stripper pole and I got the sense that a lot of really dirty things have happened there. I bought 6 beers (no need to judge, they weren't all for me) and my tab was 10.50.

CU meetup anyone?
My kinda joint. There's nothing ironic about getting hammered for $10!

Enough of those dollar beers and maybe we can get our boy Sherm on that pole.

Do they serve food too? Or just a bar?

I think I saw something about a burger scribbled on a piece of notebook paper taped to the wall.

Betty's is the home of the Annual Midwestern Jumpinship's Alleycats. It is the start and end point of the race. Yes they do serve food. They also have a patio, fireplace, (the strippers pole as mentioned) and it is in the Arena District. I think they used to have topless servers on certain nights of the week.
I've had a good time the two times I've been there. The Jumpinships draws competitors from Chicago, Cincy, Detroit, Pittsburgh, Philadelphia, NYC, and other regional cities to Columbus. So Betty's is a tourist/sporting destination once a year.
