I heard someone is opening a dessert bar on high street.

Would the CU screen name of the owner of this mysterious dessert bar happen to be 'dessertguy', or is that just a very strange coincidence?

According to my friend, it's a bar which offers popular Indian desserts paired with wine or Indian tea.

So is this just an idea or it is something that is happening?
Because your original post makes it sound like it's moving forward despite the vagueness and lack of details.

So you didn't hear that someone is opening a dessert bar on High St.
You know that your friend is thinking about opening a dessert bar on High St.

Ya you are right. I think I wasted my time as well. Who is opening the dessert bar is not the question. The point is, does this idea has an opportunity?

I think the real question here is:
Does George Foreman shit in the woods?

Then that's what you should have asked.
I feel like we're in middle school...you could have passed us a note in study hall saying that your friend heard that my friend likes dessert and wants to know if that is cool.
Please check yes or no.

Yes, but if nobody is there to smell it...does his shit stink?

I hear tanning in the winter can make you happier.
It's not that I'm not happy, but should I start tanning just for that extra glow?

Very funny! I didn't pass any note. I just asked a general opinion about the idea. That's it.

Indian desserts = well, whatever at best. I, a pretty hardcore diner, would go there once. Maybe.
Some place like Room 4 Dessert or Chikalicious in NYC = hell, yeah.
A place like RfD requires significant foot traffic or a dining populace who is interesting in a seperate dining experience after dinner. Neither of which exists (yet) in Columbus.
If your 'friend' is serious, he/she better do some research first.
A.

I'm not sure that enough of us know much about the type of things you're going to serve... at least not enough to be able to give a good response.
I'm going to toss a suggestion your way- Have your friend prepare some of the dishes he's thinking about serving. Invite a bunch of CU members over to taste them. Talk to them a bit about the restaurant concept, and ask them what they think of the menu offerings they're tasting. Use the responses from that to help figure out how much opportunity there is for the concept.
Could be a good thing.
