I did not originate this thread I simply responded to someone else posting it for public consumption.
I do not have to contact Richard Ades via email as he is reading this thread and can respond to his public... publicly just as his article was distributed to the public and written to appeal to their base instincts.
The article was graphically designed the way it was and put on the cover because it was a juicy story.
It had all the elements of mass appeal.

Anything this "reporter" has to say can be said in front of his public.

The reporter leads a public life he writes for an underground paper in Columbus that covers mainly the avant-garde art and music scene in Columbus Ohio
This particular reporter covers mainly the theatre scene in Columbus.
This message board is on a site called Columbus Underground.
The original thread was started and the online version of the paper that is stored and archived for all to see was reposted here for public comment thus not allowing the story to just fade away.
There were misleading allegations made in the article against someone that I knew personally that is no longer here to address them.
I am not arguing with anyone I am simply expressing my personal opinions and views on a public message board started FOR THAT PURPOSE.
If you wrote an article or posted a blog online and something you said was controversial would you not follow up on what was being said about what you wrote?
Columbus is a small small town and those that think they are big fish in this little pond always keep abreast of the temperature of the water.
The article written was public , Disagreement with that article has the same right to be aired in public.
Why should Richard Ades be awarded more privacy than he gave Mr Knapps family and Mr Dalrymple?
ooo I forgot He is special.Posted 1 year ago # -

Charming
You are exactly the audience Richard Ades writes for.
I am sure your parents are ever so proud.
The rest of us can easily ignore you.Posted 1 year ago # -
Ive known Tim Knapp for years. At one point, we were quite close. I was horrified when I learned of his passing and the circumstances surounding his death. He was a very giving person and my heart goes out to his family and friends. However. Collecting art is a Passion for many. Anyone who has purchased art would find the story relevant and cautionary. AND, what if YOU were Paul Kolada's daughter? She has every right to be upset, as do the family and friends of Mr Burkhart. Ms Kolada was simply protecting her fathers good name. She relayed her journey to Mr Ades who found it news worthy. For art collectors ( and there are many of us), it is news worthy.

As previously stated I do not dispute that the story is news worthy and relevant my issue is with the manner in which it was done and the timing.
Everyone that would have a pertinent interest in the news of Tim's death beyond his immediate family and his life partner in Columbus is most likely within the artistic community.
Thus I would assume they have a creative mindset and are able to pick up on subliminal use of graphic techniques to draw attention and impact the visceral senses.
The resemblance to this is what I have the problem with.
AS well as the way Mr Dalrymples response to the writer's call was portrayed.
EVERYTHING about this article is calculated.Posted 1 year ago # -
You are correct in that the use of a pic of Tims home (which is gorgeous beyond words) showing it creepy and ominous was cheap journalism and a trick to entice the reader into believing that there was more to the story than what there is. Good comparison with the Bates pic.
