I could kind of care less about DMB, but would love for this to spur the start of a new trend of a lot more concerts in the summer at Huntington Park.
Anyone have any idea what time DMB will start at? Says show starts at 7pm, but unsure if that is doors or the opener will start at 7.... seems 8:30 would be ridiculously early to have the headliner go on... I'm sort of hoping to hear it from my patio downtown...

I look forward to the show because I'm a fan myself, and also seeing how the concert element works in the new stadium.
Typically, opener is on at 7pm and then DMB takes the stage between 8:15 and 8:30. Their set usually lasts about 2 to 2.5 hours.

I wonder how many recent high school grads of schools like Dublin Coffman, UA and Hilliard Davidson (Class of 2010) will be down there drinking ... 5,000 or 6,000?

Actually, "whitebread" means "bland and middle-of-the-road dull". Nothing about race involved.
I have to wonder whether recent high school grads are even going to be listening to DMB. Seems they might find him practically retro. Something their older siblings or even their parents might listen to.

I am fine with the whole DMB scene, there are some true believers out there and it's music, more power to them.
I think a lot of high school kids will be at the show tonight. DMB has a Bob Marley-like status of "cultural know how" to kids aged 16-24. There will be tons of non-legals there this evening.

I think that Huntington Park has actually started that trend of live music at the Park this summer. There is the Salsa at the Park, which I am affiliated with on July 8, bringing live salsa/merengue music and dancing at the park http://www.columbusunderground.com/forums/topic/salsa-at-huntington-park , and I know they have a bunch of other live bands lined up for other dates as well. From what I hear, the mix is pretty diverse, which is great :) I will post more info as I find out the details.

I know you shouldn't label an entire group based on a few, BUT the concentration of shitty interactions with these fans today says something.
Two beamers smashed in to each other right in front of me (both on the phone) because one slammed on his brakes to get an on street spot and the other wasn't paying attention enough to swerve around.
A group of about 10 people waited until AFTER the the light turned red to start crossing Neil @ Vine and then took their sweet ass time, making all of us wanting to turn left have to wait through the series of light changes again to get an arrow.
Went out for a run and saw one couple screaming at each other and the dude practically dragging his drunk girlfriend down the street and another group of girls standing on the sidewalk (staring at me coming towards them, NOT moving an inch to let me by) while their friend puked her guts out in someone's yard.
WTF is wrong with these people?!?
