I am trying to find places to go dancing in Columbus Ohio that dont suck. I am in my early 30's and have no desire to be humped by a 21 year old. I love to dance to 80's music but am not really that picky. I don't like "stuffy" places. I just want to go out dancing and not be bothered really. Any ideas??????????????

OK...since Anne was so good at that...
I'm in my late 30's, have no desire to dance, and do...in fact...want to be humped on my leg by 21 year olds. Where do I go?

Seriously, Bristol. I have the same criteria. Great crowd. No cheese. Sometimes BoMA is great dancing too...especially in the basement...
Core, go to Sugar or Spice for hump o rama.

Same here. Well, anyplace where I have been drinking alcohol, really.
When I drink it's either going to be dancing or a rumble in the parking lot.
What kinda music do you like to dance to?

Just say no to drunk posting! I'm quite a ways from 21 (although I did get carded last night, yeah!!!!), but I probably just wanted permission to hump Core's leg. Who knows, really

I thought permission to hump Core's leg was the inherent right of every carbon-based organism, and a few viruses.

I'm wagering the original poster is a chick N' hence the age difference. 21 yr old males while possibly cute and decorative are often, (not always, must slip in the disclaimer that each male should be appraised on their own, but, generally speaking) hillaciously annoying when they are shoppin' for the ladies. Especially campus brats lookin' for the layin' (hence the humpin').
So where to dance? Depends on what you're looking for dancewise. Personally, when I wanna dance, I go to a gay bar. I tear the shit up whilest totally fruit-flyin' -w- my fags, and I don't have to sweat the whole guys hitting on me/or not... most of the time anyways. Every time I've been to Wallstreet a guy hits on me in a leud manner, someone explain THAT?! Besides, when I do a google search guess what kind of clubs come to light.
So, if you're looking for a straight meat-markety place for 30somethings where dancing is involved... I can't think of any place. The few time I've been to Bristol I never saw any dancing.
There's also Outland (if you dig goth and voyure BDSM)
if you want grow'd up style dancing (salsa, tango, whatever)
this may help : http://www.dancemetonight.com/DanceColumbus.htm
... I looked for other places I knew about but I think they're all closed down, like that weird Club Dance in Reynoldsburg (I think it was there anyway) where you could choose between country line dancing and hip hop, place confused the crap outa me.
So, yeah, I guess 30somethings just don't dance much anymore.

If you want ladies and '80s, try Ladies '80s at Skully's on Thursday nights. Definitely not a meat market and not many youngsters.

though not a neat market ala South Campus in the 90s, it's kinda the black market of hookups.
and as far a youngsters, yeah, they are older than typical college freshman, but I always feel old when i go there, and I'm only 33.
still a good place though, i like skullys, haven't been in a while though.

Yumbambé plays salsa at the Columbus Music Hall every Wednesday night. There is a salsa dance lesson before hand.
If swing is more your style the 94th Aero Squadron has big band swing Thursday nights.

Yeah, but Spice kinda makes me want to gag myself with a rusty grapefruit spoon. Boma does swing, but see previous comment, then repeat with BOMA inserted.
