Cyclist came in my shop a few months ago and we got to talking about an idea for mobile coffee delivery in the Short North. Many of us work our shops all day alone, and would pay a premium to not have to shut the doors for 10 minutes to grab coffee or a snack. The thing is, he hasn't done anything with it. I don't want to have anything to do with the business, even thought I think it would be really profitable, I just want to pay someone an extra dollar to bring me a cup of coffee at 3:00 every day. So Cyclist, your excuses are over, this bike is cheap, the idea is out there, if I have to I'll help out with the 50 dollars to buy this tricycle. Start this thing already.

I was hoping that it was a bike that made coffee when you peddle it.

I have tried both coffee pots and presses at work in the past. Neither worked out too well in the sanitation department. I stand by my statement, if someone just made the path of the Short North all day, maybe even worked out a deal with the restaurants where they got a 20% of the food sales or something so they could offer free delivery (plus a tip of course) to businesses and offered food and coffee they would make a killing.

The big problem with every delivery service is the minimum order. If I had enough people in my store to hit whatever the minimum is it wouldn't be such a need.

Might be something for Everyone Bikes to take up. You guys already have some visibility and publicity going for you and connections with SN businesses. One of the coffee shops in the area might be interested in expanding out and finding new ways to add revenue.
You really wouldn't need a trike, either. Just set up a regular bike with those giant dual Wald baskets on the rear and have a couple giant thermos things for the coffee. Or they could just deliver a decent sized thermos with enough Coffee to last the morning and return to pick up the thermos and/or bring by a refill.
Interesting idea.

A friend and I were talking the other day about buying an old ice cream truck and doing coffee and donuts. Like a mobile Dunkin Donuts.

Please do that.
