So yeah, as much as I love the bike paths, I'm getting sort of bored of constantly going up to 270 and back (I know there's supposed to be an alum creek path, yes? I should look for that).
But it can be outside of paths, too. Even stuff outside of the city. I live damn near in the middle of Cbus so I can get to any one side pretty quickly. I'd love to know where I can find some really good, rolling roads, with relatively light traffic.
Edit: oh and is there some sort of way to create your own map with google maps or something? By highlighting the route you want to take? That'd be perfect.

Bikely is great for mapping bike routes. It lets you go off road and trace out the bike paths.
Alum Creek MUP is pretty good. However you get to downtown, take Bryden east till it practically dead ends into Academy Park. You can take the Alum Creek MUP North or South from there.
You could also bike across 5th ave and catch the 670 trail around Leonard and over to the the Alum Creek MUP.

I just rode to Hillsboro and rode back in a car (edit). There were some really great rolling roads in Highland County, but those are 70 miles away.
There is a bike path going from Lodon to Xenia to Cincinatti if you are interested in that. Really Ohio is great for cycling as there is a paved road every mile in the country with all of them low to no motor vehicle traffic off the state and US routes. Once you get past the suburban and exurban ring, its all pretty wonderful. You can cross the state and never ride on a moderate to low volume road.
Yes google maps allows all that.

Wow. I passed through Hillsboro yesterday too! I was on my way to Hwy 73 and over to the Serpent Mounds.

Wow, I'm checking out Bikely. That site is frigging perfect!!
Edit: It shows a route that goes from Cbus to Lake Erie using nothing but lonely state routes. Definately setting that one as a goal.

Columbus Outdoor Pursuits is a good way to bike with a group on quiet roads. http://outdoor-pursuits.org/biking/rides.htm I'm a regular attendee of the scenic Canal Winchester Tuesday evening rides with about 25-40 others of all skill levels. Four Tuesday rides from there remain in the season.
mapmyride.com is a good but clunky resource for finding routes. Here are the ones around Columbus that I've mapped out. http://www.mapmyride.com/user/1152481/rojono
