Movie starts at 8:30pm and runs 1 hour.

Brent Davis, Senior Content Director at WOSU Public Media, will be introducing the documentary and speaking a bit about the process that has gone into this series thus far.
And again, folks are welcome to stick around afterward at the bar upstairs at the theatre for some discussion of the documentary. ;)

I liked it. As always I wish there was a little more meat, but what can you do with only an hour. I kind of wish they would put the cabash on the soundtrack music when people are being interviewed or at least remove the background vocals.
I also noticed the Peach District made it on the map of the University District. I guess there is hope for those in Washington Beach.

Yeah, each of these documentaries could easily be 10 hours long I think. ;) Still, a lot of great info packed into a very short timeframe. I really enjoyed the pacing of this one, and how it spaced time out between different eras over the past 200 years in that area. Really interesting to hear about some of the national events and public policies that have drastically transitioned the neighborhood, such as the influx of new students following WWII, and various rezoning efforts that changed the urban density and fabric of the area.

Yes, the 'student packing' (jamming a ton of student renters into a hacked up house) is very much an issue today. South Campus is still pretty much a student ghetto and it seems to be spreading to an improving Weinland Park.
Well, don't think that this phenomenon hasn't been noticed in Weinland Park. ;)

Mr. Neil’s Legacy Lives On In University District

When I first came to Columbus – more than a few years ago – I came to study at The Ohio State University. After a time I also did a bit of teaching and some work for the Ohio Historical Society when it was still at 15th and High Streets. And because I was young and curious and full of energy I spent more than a little time walking the side streets of the neighborhood around the campus.
