I think a better way to cut down on trolls is to place restrictions on a new account. Walker could put up an introduction forum and each new account would be required to post an intro there first and maybe reply to 4 other posts before having full access.

i would never pay to post on a messageboard. i would imagine i would go to other message boards.
i would use facebook/linked in for networking...

I have thought about the idea in the past, but more in the model of giving people the option of paying for new features, rather than taking existing things that people have always done for free and require people to start paying for them.
But yeah... probably will never happen. ;)

Jon, you've got to change the title to reflect this "what if" scenario or at least address it from the beginning. Some people may not know that you don't have a direct involvement in the operation of this site. Even knowing that it took me back for a second.
