5:30 p.m. at the Southern Theatre

Happy Hour: ThurberÃ¢â‚¬â„¢s Bar
7 p.m. to 9 p.m. inside The Westin Hotel

Meetup for an evening of dynamic pairings including a ProMusica concert and happy hour at ThurberÃ¢â‚¬â„¢s Bar featuring a complimentary hors dÃ¢â‚¬â„¢oeuvre menu and $6 drink specials. ProMusica musicians will also be on hand at happy hour for an insiderÃ¢â‚¬â„¢s perspective to the eveningÃ¢â‚¬â„¢s concert.

Here are a few photos of the food items being served at this event.

(From top to bottom: Spanakopita, Stuffed Mushroom Caps, Lobster Pot Pie, Gremalada Shrimp, Brie with Strawberry Preserves)

These are items that aren't on their regular menu, but may make it on there if they're received well at our event in January. :D

I had the pleasure of taste-testing everything last week (including the drink specials) and I must say... our 2010 meetups are off to a great start!

Big thanks in advance to everyone at ProMusica & The Westin for making this happen! They're really going all out for us on this one.

Wow. Further proof that ProMusica has its shit together. Great program that night, including a too rare Shostakovich performance:

Details to follow. I was hoping we'd have that part figured out before announcing this, but we're working on how to handle the logistics in the best way possible. ;)

But yeah, Ashley at ProMusica approached me with this whole idea, and they've really gone above and beyond to cater to the CU community and really provide an entertaining experience for everyone to enjoy. Really looking forward to this one!

Gotcha. I'll add that 2nd balcony tickets to their Southern Theater shows are only $10 - very accessible even without complimentary tickets.

A night of fine food and culture. The lobster pot pie looks amazingly satisfying. The baked brie is irresistible with the berries and French bread. The silver serving platters are so....1970's Christopher Inn. Where did they dig those up from? All joking aside, I think this will be a beautiful night. House-made sangria and baked brie - umm.

Awesome, thanks! Didn't want there to be a SNAFU with the tics because we do want to see this. I also kinda hope they aren't for the second balcony. I realized I was afraid of heights the last time we were up there. :) I think that was for a ProMusica event as well.

Also, note on Thurber's. There was some sticker shock last time we got the bill, I think mostly from the price of the whiskey being above what we would normally expect. So if you need to budget you might want to check the prices beforehand. But it is a nice bar and the hotel is beautiful.
