Sorry again for any server issues today. We've been experiencing some growing pains lately and still working out the kinks.

The problem seems to occur most frequently when trying to post, getting a blank load page, and then a refresh causing people to end up double posting.

We're working on it right now.

Walker, if its any help - the problem seems worst when I'm behind a proxy (at work), it seems much less severe when I'm at home (then, its a caching engine, not a proxy)

tNb - I think the problem is actually load-based, so more likely you're seeing the problem during the day when traffic is higher and not so much in the evening at home when the traffic load is a little lower.

FYI... made some changes last night that seemed to really improve posting latency issues. Half ready to celebrate and half ready to cry because the fix was pretty simple. ;)

I was pleasantly surprised last night when I hit send, and my post went up immediately. No lag! Congratulations!

Last month I was so happy, and proud of myself somewhat, when I fixed some Flickr download issues that were causing me problems for months. It was a very simple solution, but finding a fix wasn't so easy.

A faulty phpbb plugin that seems to have never been tested for larger user databases. The bigger our database got, the more the plugin bogged things down. Was something we weren't even using, and I didn't even realize was still enabled. Grrr...

Always nice to see improvements! I know how frustrating it can be to realize you've been foiled for a long time by a relatively easy problem, but at least it's taken care of.

Edit: I'm also happy to add to the anecdotal evidence: Posting is really snappy now. Almost instant.
